Does it actually save fuel?
Yes — if your car’s in good condition and you drive normally, most people see 10–20% better fuel economy!
Is it only for diesels?
Mainly, yes. Eco tuning works best on diesel cars and vans.
It can be done on petrol too, but the gains are smaller.
Will anyone know it’s been tuned?
Probably not. There’s no visual sign. But insurers and dealers may be able to detect it through a scan, so always be upfront.
Is it legal?
Yes, ECO tuning itself is legal in Ireland, as long as no emissions systems are removed or tampered with — such as the DPF, EGR, or AdBlue. We don’t disable or delete anything like that. If the vehicle is otherwise healthy and emissions equipment is working, it should still pass the NCT.
Will this mess with my warranty or insurance?
It might. Some dealers and insurers won’t cover a car that’s been remapped, even if it’s just an eco tune. Best to ask them first.
How long does it take?
Usually takes about 1 -2 hours, start to finish.
Will my car feel different to drive?
Not really. It’ll feel smoother, and you’ll likely use less fuel, but the general driving feel stays the same.
It’s not about speed — it’s about efficiency.
Will it still pass NCT?
Yes, as long as your emissions system is working properly. We don’t remove DPFs or anything like that.
